Social Housing Demolition
Demolition of social housing properties is
rare in Carlisle, and when it does occur it is usually part of
regeneration work to a wider area.
Those residents wishing to be re-housed into
public sector rented accommodation will be given priority on the
Housing Register.
If it is necessary to demolish a social
housing property, your housing association can pay a disturbance
allowance in compensation for the disruption while the demolition
work is taking place, and can assist with re-housing if
necessary.
If you are moving because your housing
association has plans to redevelop your home, you are able to claim
certain expenses to help you. Disturbance allowance is there
to help you with your move, such as paying for removals.
For more information, please contact your local housing association.
