There are various affordable housing options available in
Carlisle. They include:
Social Housing (Council Housing) -
The most popular form of affordable housing is renting a property
from a housing association for significantly less than prices
on the open market.
Carlisle City Council's Low Cost Housing
Scheme – The Council runs a Low Cost Housing Register, which
provides home ownership at discounted prices.
Shared
Ownership – Shared ownership enables the purchase of a property
on a part sale/part rent basis, with an initial purchase of at
least a 25% share of the property. You can increase your
share of the property as-and-when you can afford it.
