On 9th December 2002 Carlisle City Council transferred all its housing stock to Riverside Carlisle (formerly Carlisle Housing Association).
City Council housing tenants voted for the transfer in July 2002 allowing around 7,200 homes to be transferred to Riverside Carlisle along with any shops, garages and land within the boundaries of the estates involved. For more information see Transfer of Housing Stock.
