Housing Strategy
We deliver affordable housing in Carlisle,
through working with local housing associations and developers
to bring forward affordable housing sites, as well as negotiating
with private developers to ensure that a proportion of properties
on all new developments are affordable homes.
We recently commissioned a Housing Need and
Demand Study, which we will be using to analyse Carlisle's
housing market and ensure that new housing reflects the needs and
demands of our residents. You will be able to see the results
of this Housing Need and Demand Study shortly. Until
this report is published, please see our existing Strategic Housing Market Assessments, which
details housing needs evidence for our district.
Our work is both informed, and informs, the
Council's Housing and Homeless Strategies. We have
recently finished consultation on an updated version of our Housing
Strategy 2011-2015. An updated version will be available
soon.
