Medieval Carlisle Discussion Afternoon
What was life like in medieval Carlisle? Our curator of archaeology, Tim Padley, will lead a discussion afternoon looking at domestic objects from the period and trying to build up a picture of what it means. The afternoon will consist of a short presentation about medieval Carlisle, based on excavation and other sources. This will be followed by a handling session using artifacts from our collections. These will include wood and leather as well as pottery and coins. At all stages there will be a chance to ask questions and join in the discussion.

Moving Magnets / Blind Fiction / Mama-Sang...
Moving Magnets are an alternative rock band from the heart of Cumbria. With influences ranging from grunge to Brit pop they've created their own sound and made their own stamp on the local music scene. Blind Fiction began in the summer of 2011 as a series of living-room jams, before morphing into the 4-piece outfit that faces you today. The band has put together an exciting set of original material with a diverse range of influences, receiving comparison to post-punk outfits such as the Stranglers and Echo & The Bunnymen. Mama-Sang And The Robot are a 4 piece west Cumbrian band. They pride themselves on writing original rock n roll and playing live shows. Their sound is recognisable by bold guitar riffs, catchy melodies, solid backing section and some big guitar solos. The pure love for music can be seen in these guys at their live shows. All hailing from different types of music there is a true mix and something you just can't put your finger on in their original songs. What About
