Derelict Sites

Allotment Sunflowers These are allotment sites which have not been under cultivation for some time. Some have become very overgrown, some even used for illegal fly tipping.

New tenants often have a difficult time of transforming plots on derelict sites into flourishing allotments. It is altogether more rewarding for new tenants if there are a number of them working together to develop a site, and give one another mutual support.

Restoring a derelict plot usually involves a good deal of hard work for the incoming tenant. Carlisle City Council are able to offer some support with rubbish removal, cutting and spraying of overgrown vegetation and rotovating.

Derelict plots will be let at reduced rents.
