Bitts Park
is situated in the centre of Carlisle, at the foot of Carlisle
Castle with the River Eden forming its northern boundary and the
River Caldew to the west.
Vehicular access is off Dacre Road, (off Castle Way) with pay
and display car parking.
There is an alternative access off Devonshire Walk (also off
Castle Way) with a pay and display car park, and a short walk to
the Park.
Pedestrian access can be from Hardwicke Circus, Eden Bridge,
Dacre Road and Devonshire Walk, and from the main shopping centre
of the City.
In 2011 Bitts Park was awarded the Green Flag Award for the
sixth year running.
