Heysham Park extends from the westernmost edge of the city of Carlisle.  This sinuous green corridor stretches over 2 kilometres through Yewdale, Belle Vue and Raffles east to Beckfield.

There are numerous pedestrian access points to Heysham Park along Green Lane, Marks Avenue, Castlesteads Drive, Benwell Close, Rudchester Close, Coalfell Avenue, Heysham Park Avenue, Dobinson Road, Marks Avenue, Thomlinson Avenue, Shadygrove Road, Brookside, Raffles Avenue and Mardale Road.

Facilities

The Parham Beck winds its way eastwards through Heysham Park, linking the four themed areas within the park.  At the western end is the 'Country Park', moving into the 'Play Park' as you cross Marks Avenue.  The 'Flower Park' extends from Shadygrove Road to Raffles Avenue, and at the eastern end is the 'Sports Park'.

There are two small play areas off Green Lane and Coalfell Avenue.  There is a larger play area behind the Community Centre on Raffles Avenue, with a ball court, full size football pitch and changing pavilion.  There are allotments off the Mardale Road end of Heysham Park.
