Friends of Rickerby Park
The Friends of Rickerby Park are an enthusiastic group of park
users that help Carlisle City Council manage Rickerby Park by
advising of site issues, get involved with project ideas and fund
raising, as well as getting their hands dirty with practical
conservation based activities. The group is an invaluable link
between the Carlisle City Council and the community as well as
acting as ambassadors for the park.
The aims of the group are:
- To work in partnership with Carlisle City Council & other
agencies for the overall benefit of the park. Working towards the
centaury commemoration of World War One in 2014 & beyond.
- To raise awareness & promote Rickerby Park as a quality
Greenspace in Carlisle & working towards Green Flag
status.
- To encourage the community to play a proactive role in the
management of the Park, through practical activities &
events.
- To represent the interests of the community in planning &
implementing projects & applying for external funding to fulfil
the groups objectives.
