Education at Talkin Tarn
A permanent orienteering
course and numeracy trail are available for self led activities.
The park is an ideal location to bring your class for a day of
environmental education activities. Equipment can be borrowed from
the site office and the staff will be happy to help give you some
ideas for activities.
Education
Cabin.
This is where our education
programmes, both for children and adults take place.
The Cabin is available to hire for
example for meetings and training sessions. Contact the site office
for prices. The building is fully accessible and includes two
disabled toilets and a hearing loop system.
This building has many energy
saving features which include, an air source heat pump which
provides hot water for taps and the under floor heating system.
Sheep's fleece insulation, intelligent lighting, which only comes
on when needed and rainwater harvesting from the roof for flushing
the toilets.
Wildlife Conservation.
A new bird and squirrel feeding
area has been created and an old pond has been restored
so that children can learn more about our native wildlife.
