


Carlisle Sports Awards
The first Carlisle Sports Awards was held on Saturday, 8 October
2011 at The Sands Centre. The sporting event celebrated the
outstanding talent, commitment and success of Carlisle
sportspeople.
As part of the build up to the event, a staggering 75
nominations were received.
The winners were:
JUNIOR PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
Exceptional Rising Star - sponsored by Lambert Gill - Awarded to
the person demonstrating the highest achievement within their
chosen sport.
Winner: Kathryn Routledge (16 years old) - Water Polo
player
Shortlisted: Anna Armstrong (Cycling) and Jim Atkinson
(Football)
RISING STAR
Sponsored by News & Star - Awarded to three talented
athletes who have demonstrated their potential through achievements
during the last year.
