Performance & Excellence Grant Award Scheme
This is a grant that aims to support talented individuals within
the Carlisle District. It can provide help with access to
gymnasiums and can help with transport and accommodation expenses
for individuals at county, regional, national and international
level.
Criteria/eligibility
- Applicants must be a resident in the Carlisle City Council
District
- Applicants must be recognised as amateur sports men or women
and have participated through their respective National Governing
Body Event or Competition.
- Applicants must satisfy the criteria for the particular pass
applied for within 9 months prior to application
- The award will only be issued to individual participants
- Access and training times will be subject to availability and
at the discretion of the facility management
- The City Council reserves the right to control the use of free
passes
You will need to indicate on the application, which pass you are
applying for
Pass A
Must have finished in the first three of the county
championships of their sport, be ranked in the county top three or
are able to prove they have represented the county in a team
sport.
Applicants will benefit from free admission to a municipal
facility for the sport in which recognition is gained and 50% off
exercise to music classes at the Sands Centre.
Pass B
Must have finished in the first three of the Northern
Championships of their sport, be ranked in the Northern top three,
or selected to represent the Northern Region in a team sport.
Applicants will benefit from Access to the Sheepmount or Sands
Centre fitness facilities, free of charge at all times except 5pm
to 8pm. They will also receive the benefits of Pass A and £50 for
specifically identified expenditure.
Pass C
Must have finished in first three of a national or European
championships or be ranked in the National top three.
Applicants will benefit from the benefits of pass A and B, plus
£70 for specifically identified expenditure.
Pass D
Applicants must have gained international representation in
their chosen sport.
Applicants will benefit from the benefits of passes A, B and C
and will also receive £90 for a specifically identified
expenditure.
