Parking made easier

More ways to pay are now available in some Carlisle City Council’s car parks.

Ticket machines have been improved across all Carlisle City Council car parks and customers are now able to pay for parking using their credit/debit card or mobile phone in some council car parks.

In addition to coin and Pay By Phone payments, drivers can now pay by:

  • Contactless Payment
  • Apple Pay
  • Android Pay

Cllr Chris Southward, Portfolio holder for Environment & Transport, said:

“Our car parks now provide a wide range of payment options allowing customers to use their credit card, debit card and mobile phone in addition to more traditional coin payments. All our car parks are based within walking distance of the main city centre and provide affordable tariffs. The new flexible payment methods are yet another reason to choose to park in our car parks.”
