Competent electricians
Competent electricians who are not members of a self
certification scheme, but are capable of testing installations and
issuing Electrical Installation Certificates under BS7671, can
carry out electrical work in dwellings, but will be required to
submit a Building Notice to Carlisle City Council for each
individual job. Building Control will then inspect the work at
first fix and completion stages, and will require a copy of the
Electrical Installation Certificate for validation by the Council's
electrical consultant.
