Personal searches procedure
The Local Land Charges Register is paper based and is available
to view between the hours of 9.30am - 11.30am and 2pm – 4pm. 24
hours notice is required to view the Local Land Charges
Register.
Please call the Local Land Charges Officer on 01228
817554 or email landcharges@carlisle.gov.uk
to make an appointment, giving the address of the property you
would like to carry out the personal search on.
Planning Applications
Details of planning applications are available from our planning
department located in the Civic Centre. Appointments are
available between the hours of 9.30am - 11.30am and 2.00pm -
4.00pm. 24 hours notice is required.
Please call 01228 817180 or email dc@carlisle.gov.uk with a copy
of the plan showing the area that you would like the information
on. There is currently no fee for this information.
Building Control Information
Details of Building Control Applications are available from the
Building Control Section of our Planning Department located in the
Civic Centre. Appointments are available between the hours of
9.30am – 11.30am and 2.00pm – 4.00pm. 48 hours notice is required.

the plan showing the area that you would like the information
on.
Highways Searches
A copy of the Section 36 list (adopted/unadopted roads) and the
Local Plan are available to view at our Customer Contact Centre
located on the ground floor of the Civic Centre, Carlisle.
The United Utilities website is also available to view at our
Customer Contact Centre. Please ask a member of staff in the
Customer Contact Centre. The hours of opening are 9.00am - 5.00pm
Monday -Thursday and 9.00am - 4.00pm on Friday.
