Strategic Policies
Initial work on the Strategic Policies has already been
completed as part of the Core Strategy. The Council has consulted
upon the Key Issues that face district and established what
emerging planning policy should address through the Issues &
Options consultation in September 2011. This work shall feed
directly into the production of the strategic policies to be
contained within the new Local Plan. Information on the Key Issues
and Issues and Options has been provided below:
Planning Carlisle's Future
Key Issues Consultation
Residents were asked for their say between Jan-March 2011 on the
Key Issues affecting Carlisle. We had a fantastic response to
this consultation. Thanks to all those who made time to
respond to our questionnaire and who took the opportunity to
influence a plan that will shape the future development of
Carlisle.
Issues & Options Consultation
Residents were asked for their say between
September-October 2011 on the Issues and Options Paper. This looked
at the key planning issues facing Carlisle both now and in the
future and provided options on how these issues could be addressed.
We had a fantastic response to the questionnaire. Your responses
will help to inform the Preferred Options stage of the new Local
Plan.
