Statement Of Community Involvement
One of the key aims of the development
plan process is to involve the community more effectively in
the process of preparing planning policy documents, with the aim of
producing quality development which meets the needs of the local
community.
This Statement of Community Involvement
document sets out the Council’s procedures for involving the public
in the planning process, both in the preparation of planning policy
documents and in the development control process.
- It sets out the minimum
requirements for community involvement as given in the Planning
regulations;
- It identifies who needs to be
involved;
- It identifies the best way of
involving the communities of Carlisle and district;
- It outlines the stages of
consultation;
- It shows that the process can
be managed and resourced effectively;
- It sets out the policy on
consulting on planning applications.
