Carleton
No Potential
Site Reference: OC44 - Fairhaven, Carleton
Location: Fairhaven
Carleton Carlisle
Housing Potential: None (Email
us about this site)
Site Assessment: Fairhaven is a domestic
property standing within a large curtilage, adjacent to a small
number of scattered dwellings on the north side of the A6. It
is physically and visibly separated from Carleton by agricultural
land and a minor road which joins the A6 and Cumwhinton Road.
Whilst the issue of whether to allow villages on the edge of the
city, such as Carleton, to expand will be addressed by the core
strategy, this site can not be considered to be part of, or even on
the edge of Carleton. As such the site is not considered to
be a suitable location for housing development.
Site Reference: OC46 - Poplar House
Location: Poplar
House, Carleton
Housing Potential: None (Email
us about this site)
Site Assessment: This large, greenfield
site is currently isolated from Carlisle settlement pattern. It may
have potential in the extreme long term, should other sites
adjacent to the city be developed. But when considered in isolation
this site currently has no housing potential.
