Planning Policy
Carlisle City Council as the Local Planning
Authority has a statutory responsibility for the preparation of
planning policy documents which are used to guide development
across the District.
The Carlisle District Local Plan 2001-2016
(adopted 2008) is the current plan used to guide decisions on
planning applications together with national Planning Policy
