Site Assessment: This is a greenfield site
which currently has an equestrian use on it, including a barn and
stables. It lies at the western end of Cargo, and is
poorly related to from the main built form of the
village. Whilst Cargo has a low level of local services, it
is within two miles of the urban area boundary for Carlisle.
One of the issues for the Core Strategy to address is whether it is
a sustainable option for such villages to expand.
