SHLAA - Hayton
No Potential
Site Reference: HA01 - Bothy Cottage
Location: Bothy
Cottage Hayton
Housing Potential: None
Site Assessment: Part of this site has the
appearance of domestic curtilage, and part grassland. It is
located on the northern edge of the village and relates fairly well
to the existing built form. Whilst it is likely to be able to
accommodate one or two houses, at less than .4 ha, and with access
issues it is unlikely to be allocated for housing
development.
Site Reference: OC09 - Sand Pit, Hayton
Location: Sand Pit
Hayton Townhead
Housing Potential: None (Email
us about this site)
Site Assessment: Townhead is a small hamlet
with no local services. This is a greenfield site which does
not lie either within a key or local service centre. The site
is covered in mature woodland is is designated common land.
The development of the site for housing would be contrary
to NPPF Housing, which states that housing should be developed
in suitable locations which offer a range of community facilities,
and with good access to jobs, key services and
infrastructure.
