Road Safety
Road safety covers a wide range of topics from preventing
accidents through education and awareness through to designing
safer roads.
Cumbria County Council, the highway authority in Cumbria, takes
an active role in road safety. They work closely with the Police
and other members the Road Safety Partnership to
- reduce the amount of people killed and seriously injured on our
roads
- reduce the amount of collisions and damage to property
- promote safer driving (reduce drink-driving, increase seat belt
usage, obey speed limits)
From time to time, we may take part in these awareness
campaigns.
