Demonstrations and Parades
Any political or religious group can hold events in Carlisle's
pedestrian zone without the permission of the local council, but
must liaise with, and seek permission from, the Police if there is
any risk of public disorder or any effect on local traffic.
Permission for events such as community, carnival, musical, and
commercial promotions must be applied for to the City Council. The
events will usually be approved providing the event does not
breach the City bye laws and the organisers can meet the criteria
for events which will be supplied on request.
