Street cleaning programme
Carlisle City Council’s Area Maintenance teams cover all street
cleaning services apart from the A69 and the motorway. The service
is based on the Environmental Protection Act 1990 code of practice
on litter and refuse.
Zone 1 shop areas are cleaned daily. Zone 2 areas are set on a
frequency from twice daily to weekly cleaning depending on location
and all zone 3 and above are cleaned as required as per the grading
code.
