A General Election was held on Thursday 8 June 2017.

The City Council has 52 Councillors. Each Councillor serves one of 22 wards.

Local Elections were held on Thursday 3 May 2018. Elections were held in 17 Carlisle City Council wards: Brampton; Belah; Belle Vue; Botcherby; Castle; Currock; Dalston; Denton Holme; Harraby; Longtown & Rockcliffe; Morton; St Aidan’s; Stanwix Urban; Stanwix Rural; Upperby; Wetheral and Yewdale.

The PCC’s role is to act as the public’s voice on how policing is carried out in Cumbria. They will also be responsible for setting the force’s budget and deciding what its priorities and strategy should be.
