Open 4 Business Portal

Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Wolfson Foundation Announces Sustainability Fund

The Sustainability Fund is intended for organisations that have been awarded a capital grant from the Wolfson Foundation before January 2020 and who need to improve the environmental and financial sustainability of their buildings.

The application window for Round 1 runs from 30 March to 25 April (17:00) with decisions by 15 June 2022.

Spring Statement 2022 - Measures Announced to Support UK Businesses

The Chancellor has delivered his Spring Statement, including a range of new business support interventions.

Alongside measures aimed at easing financial pressures on households and families, Rishi Sunak announced a series of actions to support businesses, building on previously publicised interventions at Autumn Budget and Spending Review 2021.

Home Office Launches New Round of Funding for Safer Streets

Funding is available for interventions aimed at tackling neighbourhood crime, anti-social behaviour and VAWG, improving the safety of public spaces for all.

Round four is open applications from 18 March 2022 for ten weeks. The application window will close at the end of May 2022.

Magic Little Grants Fund Returns for 2022

Small local charities and community groups can apply now for small grants to support community projects in Great Britain that address a number of different themes.

Applications will be accepted from 16 March to 31 October 2022.

Launch of £60m Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund

Grants are available to support businesses investing in life sciences manufacturing projects in the UK.

The fund will operate across two phases, with monthly deadlines to submit applications. The first deadline to apply is Thursday 31 March 2022.

Innovate UK Launches £25m Loan Fund for Innovative SMEs

UK SMEs can access loans that are affordable, patient and flexible for late stage innovation projects that have a clear route to commercial success.

Funding will be allocated across a series of four competitions. The first competition is now open with a deadline for applications of 13 April 2022 (11:00 BST).

AllChurches Trust Announces Name Change and New Grant Scheme

A new mental health fund, set to be launched in late March 2022, will coincide with the Allchurches Trust’s rebranding and renewed emphasis on widening its social impact.

Forestry Commission Opens Tree Production Innovation Fund for 2022

The Tree Production Innovation Fund (TPIF) is designed to encourage the development and adoption of new technologies and ways of working that will enhance the quantity, quality and diversity of planting stock available for tree planting in England.

The deadline for applications to be submitted is 11 May 2022 (23:55 BST).

May Deadline for Football Foundation's Community Pitch Maintenance Fund

Funding is available for grassroots football organisations in England to sustain football pitches already at a 'good' level and to enhance pitches that are either considered 'poor' or 'basic'.

The deadline for completion of PitchPower inspections is 31 March 2022. The deadline for submission of applications to the Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund is 1 May 2022.

Turing Scheme to Open to Applications for 2022

Schools, colleges and universities in the UK can apply for funding for global opportunities for students. The 2022 funding round is due to open at the end of March.

The online application portal will open to applications on 31 March 2022. The deadline for applications is 29 April 2022.

Launch of £288m Fund for Green Heat Networks Across England

The Government has announced the launch of its Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) to fund low-carbon technologies like heat pumps, solar and geothermal energy. The scheme is supporting the rollout of the next generation of heat networks, enabling more towns and cities to take up this established technology.

The scheme opens its first application round on 14 March 2022, with a deadline for applications of 27 May 2022. This will be followed by quarterly rounds until the scheme closes in 2025.

New Grants to Tackle Climate Injustice in the UK

As part of its Food for the Planet project, registered charity Sustain is delivering small grants to support communities to campaign and advocate for food and climate justice in their local areas.

The deadline to apply is 15 April 2022.
