Background
The Mental Health Sustainability Programme was founded by a coalition of the UK's leading mental health charities and social enterprises in May 2020 to help voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) mental health service providers sustain their services during and after the pandemic.
Objectives of Fund
The purpose of the fund is to help mental health organisations become more resilient and improve their ability to deliver, both during and after the COVID-19 crisis.
Value Notes
There is a total funding pot of £100,000 for this round.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
Applicants are required to provide a clear breakdown of what funding will be used for with estimated costs.
Who Can Apply
Registered charities, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, Community Interest Companies (CICs) and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) may apply.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Evidence that their purpose is to support individuals suffering from mental health issues or illnesses.
- Commitment to supporting those with health inequalities exacerbated by COVID-19, including:
- Minoritised communities.
- LGBT+ individuals.
- Children and young people.
- Older people.
- New mothers.
- Those in contact with the criminal justice system.
- Their requirement for this funding to support sustainability through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
- Annual revenue of up to £250,000 in last full year accounts.
Restrictions
The following are not eligible for funding
- Organisations not based in England.
- Ongoing overhead costs.
- Workforce expansion costs.
Eligible Expenditure
Funding is intended to cover costs which will improve organisations' ability to survive through the pandemic by way of adapting digitally, supporting increased delivery to service-users and more.
Funding can be used to cover:
- Digital service transition such as online video conferencing or phone-line redirection costs.
- Increasing capacity and skill across existing workforce via accredited online courses.
- Responses to increasing workloads and new ways of working such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Improving digital access and advertising, for example, by acquiring registered domain names for websites.
- Improving IT infrastructure, for example, by purchasing cloud memberships.
- Supporting the workforce via Employee Assistance Programmes.
- Other coronavirus adaptations or repairs.
