Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Sustaining Spaces Fund Accepting Applications

Funding to support community spaces for trauma-experienced people and communities.

National Survivors User Network (NSUN) has announced a new fund which will enable the continuation of spaces designed for those of shared identity to come together and support one another’s wellbeing.

To be eligible to apply, groups must:

  • Be in England.
  • Be facilitating community spaces where people with shared identities and experiences come together in support of one another’s wellbeing.
  • Be benefitting people or communities who live with mental ill-health, trauma and distress.
  • Operate in a community setting.

Applicants can request grants of £500 to £1,000 for costs associated with sustaining their spaces. This could include:

  • Costs for Zoom or other software subscriptions.
  • Rent for space.
  • Tablets or laptops.
  • Refreshments and food for meetings.
  • Masks or other PPE.
  • Materials for activities (eg, art supplies).
  • Publicity costs.
  • Volunteer and group member expenses (eg, travel costs).

Priority will be given to groups that are by and led for young people (aged 18 to 25), LGBTQ+ people or people from racialised communities.

The deadline to apply is 5pm on 16 September 2022.
