Local Heritage List Review Panel
The Local Heritage List Review Panel has been established to assess nominations for local heritage assets and associated supporting information for the Local Heritage Asset List in accordance with the Local List Guidance. Recommendations produced by the Panel will then go to the City Council's Executive for ratification. The Panel will review the Local Heritage List and make recommendations as to the addition or removal of assets, as appropriate, at least once a year (and potentially more often depending on the number of nominations received). Members of the Panel will also be expected to act as 'Champions' for the Local List, supporting the promotion of it wherever possible.
Membership of the Panel will be drawn from the following organisations and areas of expertise:
- local historian
- local architect
- local archaeologist
- member of the Carlisle & District Civic Trust
- City Council officer with knowledge of heritage and urban design
- City Council officer with knowledge of planning
- City Council officer with knowledge of community engagement
- Community Organisations
The next meeting of the Local Heritage List Review Panel has yet to be determined, but information will be included on this page once it is set. Agendas and meeting minutes will be available to download below, along with the full terms of reference for the Panel.
