Welcome to the rural section of the Carlisle City Council website. The purpose of these pages is to provide access to information, publications and contacts which might be useful to the rural communities of Carlisle district and organisations that work in rural Carlisle.
Carlisle City Council is committed to supporting the economic, social and environmental well-being of it's rural areas. In order to achieve this aim the City Council operates a number of initiatives aimed at the rural area including it's quarterly newsletter "Rural Voice", grant funding programmes and support to Parish Councils.
