Waste and Recycling Updates

Due to the Road Traffic Collision and bridge closure on the M6 on Thursday 2 October, the subsequent overspill of traffic into the North of Carlisle, caused us to be unable to tip off our vehicles, which resulted in some properties being missed.  These were collected the next day but this led to some of Friday's collections being missed.  Priority was to return for refuse and recycling.  Unfortunately, we have not managed to get back for garden waste on Park Road and nearby streets in Scotby, Warwick on Eden, Aglionby, and Cargo.  For these properties, crews will be asked to take extra garden waste in black bin bags on next collection on Friday 17 October.  Please do not overfill the bags to avoid them splitting.

Please ensure that bins and recycling containers are placed out by 7am on your collection day and no sooner than the evening before.  If there are gale force winds, please consider taking your recycling to a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or a local recycling bring site, or keeping hold of it until you next collection.

Any additional refuse, garden waste and recycling, can also be taken to the HWRC (tip) at Rome Street, Carlisle or Townfoot Industrial Estate, Brampton.  Recycling only can be taken to a local recycling bring site e.g. Supermarket.

If the containers at recycling bring sites are full, please visit another site, or return in a few of days' time.  Please do not leave items beside the recycling bins otherwise you may be subject to Enforcement action.
