A unique opportunity to join our busy Bereavement Services team based at Carlisle Crematorium, the role is full time (Monday to Friday) 8am to 4.30pm (4pm one day each week to be agreed) plus a Weekend/Bank Holiday rota (1 in 4)

The role is a combination of a Crematorium Chapel Attendant and Administration Assistant and duties include:

  • Responsibility for the efficient operation of the Crematorium Service Chapel alongside other team members.
  • Providing customer service via telephone, face to face and electronically.
  • Liaising with Funeral Directors, Funeral Celebrants and Clergy.
  • Carrying out of cleaning duties within the crematorium building.
  • The checking and preparation of all paperwork required for cremations, burials and memorialisation schemes.
  • Reception duties and routine clerical tasks.
  • To be a key-holder providing security of the crematorium building.

This list covers the main areas of the role but is not exhaustitive, a flexible approach is essential as you will often be required to switch between roles, becoming an integral part of our team.
