We are looking to add staff to our bank of casual employees at the crematorium to support the delivery of high profile front line services. The role will entail working alongside a small team of dedicated full time staff to ensure the smooth running of funeral services on a daily basis, liaising with Funeral Directors, Clergy and Funeral Celebrants, and carrying out general housekeeping duties in the building.
There is a great deal of job satisfaction and pride associated with the role of Chapel Attendant as it is vital that all funerals run smoothly and in a building and grounds that are clean and tidy at all times. To be a part of that process and helping people at a time of need leads to my job satisfaction.
While prior experience is not essential as full training will be given, you must be able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the role as you will likely encounter stressful and emotional circumstances. Applicants would be expected to present a professional and respectful demeanour at all times.
Hours are variable and can be as little as a few hours a week to a whole week to cover staff leave and sickness absences, so a positive and flexible attitude to work is required. The crematorium operates Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
