Carlisle Foodies Fest

A new Carlisle event will serve up lots of tasty treats in the city centre pedestrianised shopping area between Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October.

The Carlisle Foodies Fest has been organised by Carlisle City Council and is supported by Cumbria County Council and the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership.

The jam-packed programme will include food demonstrations by two celebrity chefs - Michael Caines MBE and Sean Wilson. Free tickets to see the celebrity chefs in action are now available online at

Local food traders, arts & crafts producers and other traders are also being given the opportunity to have a stall at the two-day food festival. There is also the opportunity for traders to take part in their own food demonstrations or presentations. Anyone interested in taking part, is asked to contact Carlisle City Council on 01228 817156 or email [email protected]

The Carlisle Foodies Fest programme will also include a yurt selling ‘Pints and Prosecco’, a market showcasing local traders and a Kids’ Zone marquee with ‘have a go’ activities and children’s entertainment.

Cllr Anne Quilter, Portfolio holder for Culture, Heritage and Leisure, said

“Carlisle’s Foodies Fest will be another great free event for our residents and visitors to enjoy. There will be lots to see, and also the opportunity to meet some celebrity chefs. Come along; enjoy some locally sourced and produced food. They’ll be something to suit all tastes.”
