Carlisle Foodies Fest

A popular Carlisle event will serve up lots of tasty treats in the city centre pedestrianised shopping area between Friday 21 and Sunday 23 July.

The Carlisle Foodies Fest is a Carlisle City Council event in partnership with RR Events. It will celebrate all that's great about Cumbrian food and drink including a mix of local producers and traders, as well as a host of international gastronomic delights. It will be held between 10am and 6pm on Friday and Saturday, 10am and 5pm on Sunday.

The Foodies Fest programme will include a series of cookery demonstrations and a programme of entertainment for both adults and children. From butchery master classes to cocktail making lessons, there is sure to be something to appeal to any discerning foodie.

The centre-piece of the jam-packed programme will include hour long food demonstrations by multi-Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli on Saturday 22 July at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tickets cost £5 and are now available online at

Not only will Jean-Christophe be sharing his passion and Gaelic charm during his demonstrations, he will also be meeting traders and members of the public throughout the day as he samples the delights that the Foodies Fest has to offer. Jean-Christophe said: "I am delighted to be taking part in this year’s Carlisle Foodies Fest. Cumbria has a long association with being a destination for quality ingredients and food, and I hope to see a wide variety on display throughout the event. I can't wait to take part.”

Not restricted to gastronomic delights, the Foodies Fest will also feature a range of liquid offerings to tickle the tastebuds. Whether its traditional German beer, ice cold Sangria or even locally sourced craft ales, expect to see it all (and taste it all) at this year’s event.

Carlisle City Council spokesperson said:

"Following the success of last year’s event, this summer’s Foodies Fest is set to be packed full of food demonstrations, stalls and all things gastronomic. We’re delighted to welcoming Jean-Christophe Novelli to the event. Make sure you get your tickets for his food demonstrations soon to avoid disappointment.”

Tony Walsh, Managing Director of RR Events added: "Carlisle Foodies Fest will be one of our largest events of the year and we look forward to working with Carlisle City Council to deliver a programme to suit all tastebuds.”

The full Foodies Fest programme will soon be available at
