Crematorium improvements

Improvement works will get underway at Carlisle Crematorium on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 August.

To allow the works to be undertaken, the Crematorium won’t be available for funeral services on these days. Major re-surfacing works will be carried out on the crematorium drives and the gates to the grounds will be locked meaning that there will be no vehicle access.

Visitors will still be able to the access to the Crematorium grounds via the Richardson Street Cemetery entrances and parking will available within the cemetery grounds. Visitors will be able to access the Crematorium grounds if the walk through from the Cemetery.

During the re-surfacing works around 60% of the Crematorium drives will be upgraded. The remaining drives will be re-surfaced next year.

As part of the works, the crematorium chapel lights will be replaced with energy saving LED bulbs and gullies on the entrance drive will also be replaced.
