General Election 2019

Carlisle City Council is urging local residents to make their mark and take up their right to vote on Thursday 12 December's General Election.

Registered voters will be given the opportunity to choose who will represent the Carlisle Parliamentary constituency.

Preparations are now well underway for the elections. Poll cards have been sent to all eligible voters with information on where their polling station is. All polling stations open at 7am and close at 10pm.

The Deputy Returning Officer for the elections, Dr Jason Gooding - Carlisle City Council’s Chief Executive, said:

“We want as many voters as possible to come out and make their mark. Take up the opportunity to have your say.”

The General Election will be held on Thursday, 12 December 2019. The count will be held at Civic Centre, on the same evening. The first ballot boxes are expected to arrive soon after the polling stations close at 10pm.
