Open 4 Business Portal

Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Government Announces Reforms and Extension to the Plug-in Car Grant

The Plug-in Car Grant (PICG) aims to reduce the cost of eligible electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen cars. The scheme is part of a wider initiative to promote the uptake of next generation, ultra-low emission vehicle technologies. The grant is available to individuals and businesses in the UK. Vehicles must be pre-approved and registered in the UK. Both commercial and private buyers are eligible to purchase vehicles under the scheme.

Big Lottery Fund to open £15m digital fund for charities

The Digital Fund is a new UK wide £15 million funding programme to support charities and community organisations. It is about helping the charity and voluntary sector to use digital tools and approaches to support people and communities to thrive. Applications initially open on 22nd October 2018 and close on 3rd December 2018. There will be further opportunities to apply in 2019.

Shell Springboard Awards - 2019 Round Open to Applications

Business ideas should be for a product or service which will lead to greenhouse gas reductions. The idea should also be innovative and commercially viable. Money Saving Expert (MSE) Charity Opens for Second Round of 2018

The Money Saving Expert (MSE) Charity is designed to try and break the cycle of debt. It aims to fight financial and consumer illiteracy and is dedicated to educating and informing adults and children about consumer and debt issues. Applicants are advised to apply early in the month as the round will be limited to the first 40 applications that are accepted or the deadline, whichever is soonest. The application deadline is 28 September 2018 (5pm).

Final Round of the Women’s Vote Centenary Small Grants Scheme - Now Open

The Small Grant scheme is aimed at local groups and organisations to hold activities that mark the centenary in their community. Applications will be considered from parish and town councils, voluntary or community organisations, not-for-profits including social enterprises, community interest companies, schools, colleges, and universities. Grants of between £300 and £2,000 are available for activities that start by 15 December 2018 and are completed by 31 December 2018. The deadline for applications is 16 October 2018 (23:59).
