Grants are available to registered charities promoting healthy lifestyle choices in children and young people in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Background

The promoter of this programme is Ansvar Insurance, a business division of Ecclesiastical Insurance Office Plc. Ansvar specialises in charity, faith and not-for-profit insurance and supports community initiatives aimed at educating children and young people on the risks of drugs and alcohol abuse.

Objectives of Fund

Funding is intended to promote healthy lifestyle choices to children and young people, and to support their mental and physical wellbeing.

Value Notes

There is a funding pot of £135,000.

Three charities will be awarded grants of £15,000 a year for three years, totalling £45,000 each.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

  • Be a registered charity in the UK or Ireland.
  • Have been registered with the relevant charity commission on or before 1 July 2020.
  • Have an annual income of less than £5 million.

Restrictions

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • General ongoing running costs.
  • Groups which discriminate unlawfully in any way.
  • Party political activity or affiliations.

Eligible Expenditure

Funding must be used for the promotion of healthy lifestyles to children and young people. This may include activities which:

  • Educate on the effects on drugs and alcohol.
  • Promote responsible and safe choices.
  • Promote exercise, mental wellbeing or healthy eating.

Grants should cover a specific project. This can either be a new project or to take an existing project to a new level, or to bring a creative new idea into fruition.

The funding is for projects that run from January 2022 to December 2024.

How To Apply

The deadline is 12 November 2021 (11.59pm). It is expected that winning charities will be contacted by 1 December 2021.

To apply, applicants must submit an email of around 500 words to [email protected] detailing how they plan to use the money and how this will benefit children and young people.

Only successful applicants will receive a response.
