Background

CAF Bank is owned by the Charities Aid Foundation and provides financial services to charities and non-profit organisations in the UK.

Objectives of Fund

CAF Bank provides a range of business financial products including loans, current accounts and savings account.

The CAF Bank loan is to assist charitable and not-for-profit organisations with cash flow, a new project or property purchase.

Value Notes

Tailored loans of between £150,000 and £5 million, repayable over two to 25 years, are available. Social housing schemes may apply for loans of up to £9 million.

Loan amounts are subject to credit assessments.

Who Can Apply

Borrowers must be a UK-registered charity or not-for-profit organisation which has been operating for three years or more.

Applicants can be from any charitable sector, cause area or project.

Loans are subject to application and credit assessment. Security will be required.

Eligible Expenditure

The term loans are designed to help charitable organisations achieve their goals by financing capital projects, including:

  • Buying property or land.
  • Renovating or refurbishing buildings.
  • Building social or supported housing.
  • Acquiring or developing assets to help better support beneficiaries or service users.
