This year’s round of funding, which provides seed funding to support the development of community and local energy in the region, will be launched in September. Between £1,000 and £15,000 is available for projects that support community and local energy groups to grow and address the barriers the sector is facing, enabling them to take action to meet net-zero. The funding can be used to support a wide range of activities including producing materials to promote initiatives, supporting staff time or technical expertise, buying equipment or researching a new approach / business model.  

An event for community energy groups, community organisations, local authorities or anyone working with their community on energy issues, climate change and how to reach net-zero will be held on 17th September to launch the fund. The event will provide details of how to apply for this year's fund and hear from previous fund winners who will talk about how they have used their funding.
