First Details of New Jeans for Genes Grant Programme Announced

Funding to benefit individuals and families affected by genetic disorders in the UK.

After a full strategy review, the Jeans for Genes Fund will now be relaunching with a new approach to grant-making under the following objectives:

  • Organisations serving the genetic condition community become stronger, more resilient and sustainable improving their ability to meet need and provide appropriate support in the long term.
  • Every individual in the UK living with a genetic condition and their family is able to access the appropriate support at the time they need it so that they feel supported, valued and included.

The new programme will encompass two funding streams with distinct eligibility criteria, to be released in due course:

  • Project grants of up to £5,000.
  • Core grants of up to £3,000.

The fund will be open to UK registered charities and UK based patient groups.

Full application guidance will be published when it becomes available.

Applications will open on 1 September 2022 and close on 16 October 2022.
