Former Dragons' Den Investor Launches £10K Pitching Competition

Business Funding

12 November 2021/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Piers Linney is offering support to UK small business owners to boost their growth in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Through the Pitch to Piers competition, entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den investor Piers Linney, is seeking to raise the awareness of small businesses across the UK.

Entrants are asked to describe their business operations and demonstrate how their innovation and use of technology has enabled them to survive and thrive through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and beyond.

Selected businesses will be chosen to pitch to Piers Linney. They will need to explain what they would do with the £10,000 cash prize. The winning pitch will be judged on factors including:

  • Projected growth and ambition
  • Job creation
  • Use of technology
  • Innovation and aspiration
  • Social impact

The competition is open to all UK registered companies or unregistered businesses that are established and actively trading. Businesses must not have an annual turnover exceeding £500,000.

Piers Linney said:

'Britain is a nation of small businesses - they make up 99.9% of the business population. But they can often be overlooked and underserved and right now they need more support than ever. Helping small businesses to grow and become more productive will also have a wider positive impact on the economy.'

The deadline for entries is 28 January 2022.
