Launch of 2022 Green Alley Award for Europe's Eco-entrepreneurs

22 September 2021/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

The Green Alley Award is a start-up competition focused on the green economy, dealing specifically with the challenges of the throwaway society, the scarcity of resources and the recovery of raw materials. It is targeted at 'green' entrepreneurs from across Europe with business ideas for the circular economy and new ways of improving waste and recycling industries.

Green Alley is looking for ideas, new services, products and technologies that can turn waste into a resource. In return, it offers strategic support, networking opportunities and financing to boost business across Europe.

Finalists are invited to a one-day event with workshops and live pitches in Berlin where they will meet circular economy experts and benefit from networking and learning opportunities. The Green Alley Award winner receives up to €25,000 in cash.

By taking part in the contest, entrepreneurs will profit from a network of green economy experts and valuable new business contacts.

Entrepreneurs and start-ups operating in the green economy, from across Europe, with business ideas and digital solutions for the circular economy and new ways of looking at waste prevention, can apply.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 23 November 2021.

How To Apply

This programme operates on an annual basis.

Applications for 2022 opened on 14 September 2021. The deadline for submissions is 23 November 2021.

Once entries close a panel of experts will judge all applications. According to the application guidelines they will analyse business ideas and, if necessary, call in other experts or get back to the applicant for further information. The panel will then shortlist the finalists to join attend a pitch. All finalists will be invited to a one-day event hosted in the Green Alley co-working space in Berlin.

The one-day-event begins with both general and individually designed workshops led by different mentors who will teach applicants how to start, finance and boost their green business.

Finalists will compete in a pitch final and present their ideas in three minutes live to an expert jury and guests from the green economy, the media and the start-up sector.

More details can be accessed at the programme website
