Grants are available to grassroot football clubs in the UK whose activities have increased mutual respect on or off the pitch, to support costs including replacing equipment or completing repair work.

Background

Nationwide Building Society is working with the FA's Respect Programme, the Scottish FA's Positive Play campaign, the FAW's Fair Play Awards and the Irish FA's Back in the Game programme to provide the Mutual Respect Grant Fund.

Objectives of Fund

The purpose of the fund is to help grassroot football clubs across the UK, whose work contributes to making the game a more respectful and positive place, with costs such as replacing equipment or other associated costs to enable them to continue providing football activities.

Value Notes

The fund will award a grant of £1,000 to each of 50 grassroot football clubs.

Who Can Apply

Applications will be accepted from grassroot football clubs based in the United Kingdom. This includes:

  • England Football accredited clubs and leagues.
  • FA Affiliated Disability Leagues.
  • FA Women's National League Clubs.
  • Clubs constituted and operating in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The following criteria apply:

  • Applicants must be a member or associate of the club and aged 18 years or over.
  • The donation can only be paid into a club bank account and cannot be received by any one individual.

Restrictions

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Professional clubs.
  • Profit-making organisations.
  • Schools or other education establishments.
  • Local authorities, parish, town councils or leisure trusts.
  • Individuals or sole traders.
  • Not for profit clubs or voluntary groups including registered charities, social enterprises, and community interest companies.
  • Any other constitution not listed as eligible.

Eligible Expenditure

Funding is intended to support costs including replacing equipment, purchase of new equipment, repair work, or other associated costs.
