IoD Cumbria | Finance for start ups to multinationals

Date & Time: 05 Sep 2019 10:30 - 12:30 Location: University of Cumbria, Carlisle

IoD Cumbria welcomes Grant Peggie from the British Business Bank for this insightful workshop on financing. After a welcome from IoD Cumbria Chair, Barry Leahey MBE, Grant will offer his wealth of knowledge to explain the finance options available to Cumbria based businesses through the British Business Bank’s programmes no matter its size or structure.

Attendees will also get to hear from other speakers, including a real life case study from Stuart MacLennan of Appleby Creamery who has benefited from the £400m Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund. The deal marks NPIF’s first large debt investment from FW Capital to back a Cumbrian business since the fund was launched to support small and medium-sized businesses across the North of England.

Miranda Kirschel MBE, Client Executive at EY and Board Member of the Cumbria LEP, will discuss the LEP’s purpose, strategy, approach to delivery, and priorities for the county. Miranda will also cover the rationale for the newly created role of Head of Business and Innovation and the key areas of focus. Along with funding streams that exist for startups and scale ups in the county? And available support from LEP to access these and other support

After the speeches, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in a panel discussion and will close with a networking lunch.
