Background
This initiative is provided by the Oli Bennett Charitable Trust.
Objectives of Fund
This programme has been set up in tribute to Oli Bennett, a successful financial journalist who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York in 2001.
The charity was established to help young people from all backgrounds get their business ideas off the ground and turned into sustainable, profitable organisations, whatever their scale. The aim is to provide financial support, where other methods of fundraising may have failed, and to offer advice.
Value Notes
Grants of up to £2,000 are available.
The Trustees prefer to assist in buying a business asset as opposed to providing funds for general expenses. The Trust supports new or very young businesses rather than assisting with expansion plans for larger businesses.
Who Can Apply
Grants will be considered for young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and up to their 30th birthday and who are UK residents.
Restrictions
The scheme will not fund training courses.
Location
United Kingdon
