The Exhibition Gallery

at Tullie House Museum is one of the biggest and most attractive contemporary galleries in the region.  Since opening, the gallery has established itself as one of the best spaces of its kind in the region.

Tullie House Museum has refurbished two of its permanent galleries to improve the display of its nationally important collection of Pre-Raphaelite art. This exciting development incorporates new interpretation including an innovative multimedia programme

The Roman Frontier

stories beyond Hadrian's Wall ' gallery is a permanent exhibition which showcases Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery’s significant Roman collections along with items on loan from the British Museum.

Carlisle Life

This new gallery is a complete transformation of the museum's Social History Gallery, taking a fresh look and a new approach to the Carlisle area's recent past, with the emphasis on people and their stories.

 Border Reivers

This new permanent gallery explores the deadly world of the Border Reivers. For 300 years the people of the Anglo-Scottish Border region lived in a war zone. Invading armies caused terror, destruction and death. From this conflict emerged ruthless men who were expert raiders, horsemen and cattlle thieves.
