Funding to strengthen capacity and resilience in organisations supporting Deaf and Disabled People.
Trust for London, in partnership with City Bridge Trust, is delivering a brand-new fund to support Deaf and Disabled People's Organisations (DPPOs) to become more effective, more inclusive, more influential and more sustainable.
The Fund is open to non-profit organisations in London which meet the Trust's definition of DPPO:
- The management committee/board has at least 75% representation from Deaf or Disabled people.
- At least 50% of the paid staff team is Deaf or Disabled with representation at all levels of the organisation.
- The organisation provides services for, or works on behalf of, Deaf or Disabled people.
There are two levels of funding available:
- Large Grants - the funders are open to considering each request on a case-by-case basis, though it is unlikely that grants for more than £120,000 will be awarded.
- Small Grants - up to £15,000.
Grants are designed to be flexible and can be used for core or project-related costs. However, organisations requesting unrestricted core funding must be registered as charities.
The Trust would like to fund work that:
- Strengthens the capacity of DPPOs to engage in campaigning, policy, advocacy and generally mobilise for change.
- Contributes to growing, broadening and diversifying the disability sector.
There will be a series of online information sessions for potential applicants in the coming months.
The deadline to apply is 5pm on 3 October 2022.
