2023 Unloc Young Entrepreneurs Challenge to Open in October

An annual competition to support the development of young UK entrepreneurs will soon open for applications.

Financial awards, a mentorship package and pro-bono support are available to young entrepreneurs based in the United Kingdom and Europe to accelerate their business idea or start-up.

The Young Entrepreneurs Challenge provided by Verizon Business and Unloc is designed to support young entrepreneurs who have a fresh and innovative technology-led idea for a business, or have started one already.

Applications will be accepted from residents and/or citizens of a mainland European country aged between 16 and 25 years on 1 February 2023.

Business proposals must meet the following criteria:

  • Be legal in all mainland European countries.
  • Be either a pre-start (not yet trading); or not have been trading for more than three years and have an annual turnover of less than £100,000 on 1 February 2023.
  • Be the applicant's own idea and not infringe on the copyright, patent or intellectual property of others.

The Grand Prize Winner receives a £10,000/€11,000 grant, a mentorship package and pro-bono support.

Each finalist receives a £1,000/€1,100 cash injection. All shortlisted finalists will also receive the Young Entrepreneurs Challenge Masterclass Support Programme.

The 2023 competition will open for entries on 3 October 2022 and close to entries on 20 January 2023 (17:00 GMT).
